Health Minister Epp tells MP Sheila Copps of his department?s efforts to help persons with sensitivities

Health Minister Epp and Deputy Minister Maureen Law did make an effort to stop damaging statements by health officials. By indicating the things he was doing for the well being of persons with sensitivities, Epp was showing his officials which way the wind was blowing, and that direction had changed, dramatically. For the first time, there is no backpaddling. Although much more serious concerns existed about the consequences in health care, in society, the fact that he moved to a point of demonstrating his willingness to act on the needs of persons with sensitivities was appreciated by many hundreds of Ottawa locals, and thousands more across Canada. In reviewing these documents, it?s reassuring to see that Epp and Law had moved before the 1988 federal election. The work (and patience) of Gord Douglas, in Sheila Copps office, should be mentioned.
