Brown merge to Senators about lethally abusive attitudes in Health Canada

Last week I discussed the issue with a Dr. Kirkbride in Medical Services Branch, which is responsible for delivering health care to native people. I asked what the Department was doing to stop the abuse of persons whose central nervous system dysfunction is caused by sensitivities. He said there was no basis for the statement that psychiatric disability can be caused by sensitivities. When I indicated that consumer experience and numerous studies show there is, he said, and I quote him precisely. "Some people say the world is flat." It was like revisiting the early 1980?s, when Health and Welfare was actively promoting the abuse of people with sensitivities. It was as if ten years of awareness building under the previous government had not taken place. Compare Kirkbride?s statements to those of the department just five years earlier, when health officials were promoting the protection of persons with sensitivities in health care, as seen in letters from Perrin Beatty, also attached, below.
